A R&B outfit from Preston whose singles are extremely rare and sought-after. People had always thought this was Bowie because (i) of the similarity between David John and Davie Jones; (ii) the Vocalion connection; and (iii) the titles of the first single. Brierly and Illingworth both went on to Little Free Rock and Smith was also involved in the Astral Navigations Thundermother project using the name David John.
Compilation coverage has so far included:- To Catch That Man on Broken Dreams, Vol. 2 (LP) and The R&B Scene (CD); Pretty Thing on Trans-World Punk Rave-Up!, Vol. 2 (LP); To Catch That Man and Pretty Thing on Maximum R'n'B (CD); I Love To See You Strut and Bring It To Jerome on Pebbles, Vol. 6 - The Roots Of Mod and Rare 60's Beat Treasures, Vol. 1 (CD); Diggin' For Gold on Diggin' For Gold, Vol. 1 (LP & CD); Diggin' For Gold (acetate) on Revenge Of The Amphetamine Generation (LP); I Love To See You Strut, Bring It To Jerome, Diggin' For Gold and She's Fine on RGM Rarities, Vol. 2 (CD); Bring It To Jerome, I Love To See You Strut, To Catch That Man and Diggin' For Gold on English Freakbeat Vol. 6 (CD).
